VI-ENGINEERS AT WEISSENSEE

The best way to develop new ideas is to involve forward thinkers and pioneers.

The team of Vienna International Engineers maintains a consistent dialogue with equally visionary cooperation partners to remain true to our motto “Developing visionary ideas”. We visited one of them at Weissensee in Carinthia. The Weissenseer company has been building passive houses since 1988 and develops top-quality building envelopes in this segment.

We were particularly impressed by how consistent the company follows its philosophy to design everything as simple and efficient as possible. Their production hall generates virtually no waste materials – everything gets recycled or resold – and the heating system runs on machine exhaust air. But their visions go even further. It is their ambitious goal is to ensure that we will all live in “plus energy” houses in the future. “Plus energy” buildings generate more energy than they need over the course of one year. We are big fans of ideas like that.
